After 15 successful years as one of the UK's top summer festivals, the 2011 V Festival is nearly upon us!  Originally conceived in the mid nineties by Jarvis Cocker's Pulp, the festival has featured some of the iconic moments in British pop history.

The 2011 lineup is in a word, epic.  Fans of Eminem and Rhianna will be pleased to see both of them performing incredible sets of both new and classic hits, and the Arctic Monkeys fans will see their return to the top of the festival pile with their headline slot.  Fans of cutting edge breaking artists will no doubt be happy to see the likes of both Tinie Tempah and Jessie J performing on the main stage at the festival as well.  Also making festival comeback performances are the Manic Street Preachers, Duran Duran, Primal Scream and Cast.  The Fun Lovin Criminals will no doubt be on top form - their performances at the V festival have always gone down well.  As if thats not enough for you all there is a fantastic undercard featuring bands like Pendulum, Razorlight, Chase and Status, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson and Ellie Goulding. 

If you've still got the energy, why not watch Katy B, Squeeze, The Saturdays, and of course Olly Murs of X Factor fame, Ocean Colour Scene and Wiz Khalifa.

Directions and Travel Information

Hylands Park is in the parish of Writtle approximately 2 miles outside of Chelmsford on the A414. If you are arriving on foot, follow the signs from Chelmsford to the V Festival site and use gates marked 1,2,3 or 4. If you are camping in the Yellow campsite follow the signs worded YELLOW.

Camping Information

The campsites will open at 12noon on Friday 21st August and close on Monday 24th August at noon. The arena will open at 12noon on Saturday and Sunday and the bands will finish at 11pm. Sleeping in vehicles in the car parks is not permitted.

Car parking is payable in advance or on the gate.
