The Script
The Script are an alternative rock band, hailing from Dublin. The band comprises of Dubliners Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power, and have been working together since 1996, for the first five years under the name “MyTown”, however in the climate in the late 90s of boyband culture, they found it difficult making breakthroughs in the UK scene. They went on to be renamed “The Script” in 2001, and have recently made the successful breakthrough after spending the last 15 years working in the US, Canada and the UK and their work has been featured in both 90210 and Waterloo Road, opening up their music to huge audiences in both the United States and the UK. The Script also supported both Paul McCartney and U2 in their respective tours in 2009 and 2010, allowing them to play the historic first concert night at the Citi Field in New York, and in front of a home crowd of 80,000 people in Croke Park, Dublin. They also went on to win the best Live Performance award at the Irish Music Awards in 2010, and their first US Single released in 2010 went on to sell over a million copies.
