The Prodigy are without question one of the biggest, most powerful names in Dance Music across the globe, their impact has been impossible to measure, for the past twenty years they have blazed a trail and put dance music and rave culture on the map. They formed in 1990 as four mates from Essex and then went on to sell an absolutely phenomenal 20 millions records worldwide. They released underground 12” hit “Charly” in 1991 and then never looked back. It’s catchy “Charly says” hook and druggie subtext saw it be huge in every kid across the UK’s bedroom. This saw the advent of rave music and culture and the Prodigy became the poster childs of this new scene. They quickly released two Lps “Experience” and “Music for the Jilted Generation” which went on to spawn massive dance floor singles and chart in the UK at number one. It was 1996 that saw them become massive world wide with the release of their two landmark singles “Firestarter” and “Breathe” . They headlined Lolapalooza, Glastonbury and their and their next LP “Fat of the Land” entered the charts at number one in the UK and the US. This was a development of sounds for the band as it became a harder sound, laying the building blocks for the breaks and big beat scene that would then follow. This LP turned the Prodigy into one the World biggest dance acts and they have constantly toured to back stadiums since then. Their Invaders must die shifted over 100k copies and became a UK number one. Summer 2010 saw them sell out the Milton Keynes Bowl, selling over 60,000 tickets and the future holds even more sold out tours and concerts so make sure as soon as you get an opportunity!
