Emerging from the 1980s New York Nu-Wave art & music scene, Sonic Youth have gone on to become one of the most influential Alternative Rock bands of their generation.
Heavily influenced by the likes of The Velvet Underground and The Stooges, they carried the Punk Rock ethos through the birth of the US Indie underground scene and paved the way for many of their subsequent contemporaries.
