          Russell Howard

          Russell Howard

Russell Howard is one of the breakthrough comedians of the last few years, having been nominated for prizes in at the Edinburgh Festival, the Chortle Awards and Zoo Magazine. He is best known however to the general public for his work on a number of comedy panel shows including most famously, Mock the Week. He has also made guest appearances on 8 out of 10 cats, Would I Lie to You?, Live at the Apollo and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. On stage he has built up a following nationwide with a number of sell out tours under his belt, including “Wandering” in 2006, “Dingledodies” in 2008/2009 (which went on to become his debut DVD which has sold well), “Big Rooms and Belly Laughs” in 2009. Currently preparing for his first Arena Tour, “Right Here, Right Now” Russell Howard will be performing in front of sell out crowds at some of the UK’s biggest venues including the o2 Arena in London, The MEN Arena in Manchester, the NEC in Birmingham, the Cardiff International Arena, The Metro in Newcastle and the Echo Arena in Liverpool. His comedy is defined as political satire and observational comedy, and recently he has been commissioned for a further two series of his show “Russell Howards Good News”, which is aimed at the under 25 segment of the “Have I got News For You” market. This show has become the most successful BBC three comedy show ever, and has been widely applauded by critics. He has also worked on the Radio replacing Russell Brand after the sachs-gate scandal, however he has recently quit this position, citing that working on Radio did not work well for him, as his brand of comedy relies on immediate audience reactions, and working on the radio wasn’t working for him. I went to see Russell Howard at the O2, on the 19th of December, 2011. Me and my friends absolutely loved it, and his jokes were hilarious, and his humor and laughter is well worth the £30 ticket. Brilliant set up, and coverage. I would definitively pay to see him again, I was looking forward to the gig for several months, and he delivered well.

Went to Birminham NEC last night to see Russell Howard with my 14 year old son. A bit close to the mark at times, not for prudes or those who may be easily offended, but a fantastic, hilarious evening. Sore throat from laughing, aching jaw from smiling and will definitely go to see him again!!!
