English folk quartet The Unthanks released their debut album, Cruel Sister, in 2005, which was subsequently awarded Folk Album of the Year by Mojo magazine. Their 2007 follow-up album, The Bairns, was then nominated for the Best Album award at the BBC Folk Awards 2008.
