At the forefront of the Seattle grunge scene, Mudhoney had a great influence on those around them, most notably Kurt Cobain. Although never finding great success as a band themselves, they played a very important part in the American underground scene. They shaped a sound that went on to gain commercial success following the release of Pearl Jam's 'Ten' and Nirvana's Nevermind.
