The rebellious side of the Manics has gone as they've finally turned all Radio 2. This set, whilst perfectly executed and polished soundwise was a bit of a let down. Ocean Spray, Hazelton Avenue, Tsunami really didn't deserve any space, neither did anything involving Nicky Wire's abysmal singing and even worse guitar playing. I'd suggest he stick to bass but even at that he's reached only mediocre over the years. It wasn't all bad - Faster, Motown Junk, Roses in the Hospital, Motorcycle Emptiness, You Love Us and This Is Yesterday restored my faith in the true Manics. Staple classics Design For Life, Tolerate and Suicide is Painless were also present and delivered faultlessly. A good, if not exceptional, show, slightly overshadowed by the huge wall ofsound that was British Sea Power in support.

Manics were outstanding. Support acts were self indulgent rubbish. Newport centre bar staff non existent. 25 minutes to get served!!!!! Would love to see the MSP again. Great show, worht every penny.
