Madness Tickets
The original ‘Nutty Boys’ are back with a mammoth ‘Do Not Adjust Your Nut’ tour taking place across the UK this November and December. The tour sees the infamous pop/ska band from Camden Town perform old and new hits alike as they follow up the success of their most recent album ‘The Liberty of Norton Folgate’. The album demonstrated a return to fine form and reached number five in the UK charts. Support on the tour comes from special guest Paul Heaton, formerly of the UK chart topping band Beautiful South. Madness has been wowing crowds now for over three decades; don’t miss out on your chance to see this incredible band live! After forming in 1976 and undergoing several shifts in the line-up, the band finally settled on the name Madness, the name paying homage to a song by their idol ska/reggae artist Prince Buster. The current line up has been in place since 1979 and consists of Graham McPherson, known to you and I as ‘Suggs’ at the helm and joined by Mike Barson, Lee Thompson, Chris Foreman, Mark Bedford, Daniel Woodgate and Carl Smyth. The same seven members have stayed true to the band and have seen hit after hit for the last thirty years. The band emerged in the late 1970s as part of the 2 Tone ska revival and have continued to be an enormously popular band since then, with the band continuing to be a huge success throughout the 80s with the band spending 214 weeks on the UK singles chart over the course of the decade, holding the record for most weeks spent by a group in the 1980s UK singles charts. Singles released during this era include House of Fun, It Must be Love and Baggy Trousers were released. This decade also saw the release of ‘Our House’ Madness’ most internationally successful single was released. The song went on to inspired a musical of the same name in 2003, which featured songs from Madness and won an Ivor Novello award for ‘Best Song’. The band went on to win numerous other awards including another Ivor Novello in 200 for ‘Outstanding Song Collection’. In 2005 they were also awarded the ‘artist’s artist’ MOJO ‘Hall of Fame’ award. In 2009 the band won the coveted ‘Silver Clef’ Icon Award. The latest tour sees the band performing many of their hits from the last 30 years and gems from their new album, The Liberty of Norton Folgate.
