Joni Mitchell is a Canadian singer/songwriter that’s has inspired generations of female artists with her truthful, poetic lyrics and her immense dedication to her music. In the 60’s she was well known on the folk music scene but turned to pop and jazz in the 70’s. By 2002, her love of music seemed to have faded dramatically. She voiced these opinions in a Rolling Stone interview, calling the music industry a ‘cesspool.’ She refused to release any new music and only released compilations of her earlier stuff.
