  2. Why should I sell my tickets?

People sell their unwanted tickets on Seatwave for a variety of reasons. Some are no longer able to attend and some have bought tickets for a friend who can no longer go. Whatever the reason, Seatwave's secure marketplace is a great place to sell these tickets to other fans.

  3. Who sells tickets on Seatwave?

Anyone is free to sell tickets on Seatwave as long as they abide by the rules of our marketplace. These rules ensure that sellers list tickets accurately and honestly, and that they deliver the tickets as promised.  We don't sell any tickets ourselves on the site - we merely provide the safe and secure marketplace for others to buy and sell.

  4. Can I sell my tickets to Seatwave?

No, Seatwave does not buy or sell tickets. Our ticket exchange is a marketplace for others to buy and sell safely and securely from each other.

  5. What is a listing?

Each performance will have various tickets being sold by different fans. Each offer of sale is known as a listing and will include a set number of tickets, the location of the tickets and the price that is being asked for each.

  6. How do I list my tickets for sale?

If you have spare tickets to sell, simply click on Sell alongside the perfomance for which you have tickets. Alternatively, you can select the Sell tab along the top of the page. This will take you through our simple 5-step process to list your tickets for sale. Listing is free and will take only a few minutes.

  7. I can't find the event I'm looking to sell tickets for. What do I do?

If you can't find the event you're looking to sell tickets for, contact us here.

  8. How will I know if I successfully listed my tickets for sale?

Once you have successfully listed your tickets for sale, you will receive a listing confirmation email with all the details of your listing. You will also be able to find all this information in My Account.

  9. The event I'm looking to sell tickets for is only a few days away. Why am I not able to list tickets for sale?

For most events, listings are removed from sale a few days before the event to ensure there is always enough time for any buyer to receive their tickets. For certain events, we allow sellers to sell their tickets right up until a few hours before the event. Find out more about this option here.

  10. I received a listing confirmation email but my listing is not appearing on the site. What do I do?

If you received a listing confirmation email and the event is only a few days away, your listing is not appearing on the site anymore because there is too little time. We automatically remove listings a few days before an event to ensure there is always enough time for tickets to reach a potential buyer. As you will have received a listing confirmation email, it is likely that your listing was live for only a few hours before automatically being turned off sale.

  11. Does Seatwave charge me for listing tickets?

Listing your tickets for sale on Seatwave is free. You only pay a 10%-15% success fee plus VAT once your tickets sell.

  12. Is it legal to resell tickets?

The resale of tickets is completely legal in the UK, except for football tickets without the express co-operation of the football club. We work with both Fulham and Portsmouth football clubs to provide a safe and secure exchange for their fans within these guidelines.

  13. How do I know what to charge for my tickets?

We'll provide you with current market information when you choose to list your tickets for sale. This information will show you the price range that tickets have sold for on the site, the last price paid and the average price paid for your event. We provide this information so that you can set a reasonable asking price for your tickets that the market can support.

  14. What if I want to change the asking price of my listing?

You can change the asking price of your tickets at any time before they are sold by logging in to My Account.

  15. Why are other tickets cheaper or more expensive than mine?

We don't set any restrictions on what sellers choose to ask for their tickets. Those that are priced competitively tend to sell, and sell quicker. Additionally, for many events, there are various different types of tickets available depending on their location within the venue. Seats nearer the stage tend to be priced higher than those further back.

  17. Why do I have to specify the face value?

We aim to create a transparent and secure marketplace and believe that buyers should have as much information about the tickets as possible to make their purchase decision. The face value of a ticket is an important piece of information that helps buyers decide the value of the ticket. The more information sellers provide, the better the marketplace and the more likely your tickets are to sell.

  18. Can I list these tickets on other websites at the same time?

We strongly discourage your from listing your tickets on other sites. Once your tickets sell, you are bound to provide them to your buyer. If you no longer have the tickets, you will be responsible for reimbursing Seatwave for the cost of sourcing replacement tickets for your buyer.

  19. What information should I include in my listing?

In our experience, the more information you are able to provide, the stronger your chance of selling your tickets. Buyers tend to be more comfortable purchasing tickets that have accurate and complete information about their location within the venue. Where relevant, we will ask you to list the block number and row number of your tickets. We also recommend that you email us proof of purchase for the original tickets, whether this be an email confirmation or the actual receipt.

  20. There are lots of tickets on sale for the event I'm looking at. Is it still worth listing mine?

Seatwave attracts hundreds of thousands of fans looking to buy tickets each month. Even if there are many other tickets available for sale for your event, it is still worth listing your tickets. Our market pricing information will help you understand the average selling price for tickets like yours. Those that are priced competitively tend to sell quickly and well.

  21. There are no other tickets for sale for the event I'm looking at. Is it still worth listing mine?

Absolutely. We have new fans visiting the marketplace every day looking for tickets and many could be looking for tickets just like yours. If your tickets are the first to be listed, you have a higher chance of selling them.

  22. How long will my listing remain available?

Listings remain available on the site until a few days before an event. We automatically remove listings from sale at this time to ensure there is always enough time for tickets to reach any potential buyer.

  23. How do I change the details of my listing?

You can change the details of your listing, amend the asking price, or cancel a listing at any time before your tickets sell in My Account. Select Edit alongside the listing you want to change.

  24. Why do you need my credit card details when I list a ticket?

We work hard to make sure that, at Seatwave, buying and selling tickets is safe and easy. Our TicketIntegrity™ promise guarantees that buyers receive exactly the tickets they paid for and that sellers get paid. As a seller, we ask for your card details in order to honour your part of this promise. We won't charge your card. We'll just check to confirm that it is a legitimate card in order to secure the posting. If you don't deliver on the sale then we will buy other tickets to fulfil the order and your card will be charged for that amount. But we don't believe that's going to happen. It's just in case.

  25. Can I cancel my listing at any time?

You can cancel your listing at any time before your tickets sell in My Account. You cannot delete a listing after the tickets have sold. If the tickets have sold, you must honour the transaction or your credit card will be charged for replacement tickets.

  26. Can I cancel my sale at any time?

You cannot cancel a sale. You can remove a listing at any time before the tickets have sold. But once your tickets have sold, you must honour the transaction or your credit card will be charged for replacement tickets.

  27. I have more than one ticket to sell. Can I specify how many I sell at one time?

You can sell as many tickets as you like at one time. When you are listing your tickets for sale, you will be asked how many tickets you would ilke to sell and how you would like to sell them. You can decide whether you want to sell them individually, in pairs or only as one group of tickets.

  28. Why are you asking for a planned dispatch date?

There is now the option to include a planned dispatch date in the extra information for each listing. This can be done in My Account. This date will enable us to keep your buyer better informed about when they can expect to receive the tickets. If you do not yet have your tickets, and are unsure when you will receive them, we recommend that you estimate this date to be about a week before the event, as this is when most promoters will have sent out their tickets.
