FAQ
What does Seatwave do?
Seatwave is in the business of getting passionate fans to the events they love by making it easier and safer for people to buy and sell tickets. Our goal is to build the biggest, most trusted and most inspiring marketplace for event tickets.
Does Seatwave have any affiliation with any ticketing agencies?
Anyone is free to sell legitimate tickets on Seatwave including ticketing agencies - this helps us ensure that we have the widest range of tickets possible. However, Seatwave are not affiliated with any of these agencies.
Does Seatwave itself sell tickets?
No, Seatwave itself does not buy or sell tickets. We exist purely as a marketplace where people can find the tickets they are looking for or sell tickets they no longer need.
Finding the right ticket on Seatwave
1. What events does Seatwave sell tickets for?You will find tickets for thousands of music concerts and festivals, sporting events and theatre shows on Seatwave. Many events that are sold out elsewhere are available on Seatwave as ticket holders to those events sell off tickets they no longer want or are not able to use.
2. What events does Seatwave list?Seatwave lists tickets for thousands of events across the worlds of music concerts, theatre and sports. We try to offer a broad range of events and are adding events to our site on a daily basis. If there are events that you want to buy tickets for that we don't have a listing for, please email us with the name of these events. We will try to find tickets for you and then email you when these tickets become available.
3. How do I find the event I am looking for? There are two main ways to find the event you are looking for on Seatwave. You can use the menus and listings to browse through to the relevant sections of the site (e.g. if you are looking for tickets for a Kylie Minogue show you would navigate through Concerts>Pop and Rock> Kylie Minogue to find your tickets). You can also search the site to find events, venues and tickets by typing in the name of the artist, team, band, show or venue in the search box. You can also use the 'Advanced Search' which is located just beneath the search form in the top bar. If you cannot find an event just email us with the name of the event you are looking to go to and we will email you when tickets for this event become available.
4. How do I know if there are tickets available to the event I want to attend? If there are tickets available for an event you will see a 'Buy' button next to the event name. If there is no buy button next to the event we do not currently have tickets available. If there are events that you want to buy tickets for where none are currently available,
drop us a line and we'll try to find some for you. We will email you when these tickets become available.
5. If the exact seats I want aren't available, should I wait for them to become available?Unfortunately we can't guarantee whether more tickets for an event will be listed. Listings are updated in real time and there's a good chance that more tickets will be listed soon. You can
click here, or phone us on 0207 307 9350 and ask us to find the tickets you are looking for.
6. Why are there multiple listings of tickets available for the event I want to attend?Tens of thousands of people list tickets for sale on Seatwave. In most cases, for any given event there will be several different sellers offering tickets to that event.
7. Why are some tickets priced above face value?Sellers on Seatwave are free to list tickets for sale at a price they choose. Seatwave therefore has no control over the price of tickets listed on the site. We provide sellers with price history information that equivalent tickets are selling for in order to keep asking prices for tickets realistic. For many popular sold-out events, prices do tend to rise above the face value of the ticket reflecting the high demand and limited supply of these tickets.
8. Why does Seatwave only have certain tickets for sale for events?Seatwave is a marketplace for our fans to buy and sell tickets to events. Seatwave does not run an event box office with tickets to all sections of arenas or grounds. We will only display tickets that our users have listed on our site.
9. How can I see where my seats are located in the venue?Use the seat map provided on the event page to see where your seats are located. This will give you a good indication of where you will be sitting. If the venue is general admission/standing you will not have a reserved space and we recommend you get there early to get a vantage point close to the stage.
10. Why are certain tickets showing "We've got the receipt"?Where a seller has sent us a copy of their proof of ticket purchase, we've indicated this next to the tickets.
11. Do you guarantee seats together? If you are buying groups of two tickets from the same listing, they should be seated together. For larger groups, seats should be, at the least, in groups of two seats together. If you would like to check on whether seats for groups of four or more are together, please
contact customer services.
12. Why are there so many tickets for sale for the event I want to attend? There are thousands of people and companies selling tickets on Seatwave. For many events, particularly the most popular ones, this results in many people selling tickets on Seatwave for the same event. We think this competition helps keep prices on our site low.
13. Is there any difference between searching for events or browsing for events in navigation? There is no difference. The same information will be displayed whatever route you take to get to the event page.
14. Why is the event listed if there are no tickets available?Seatwave is a marketplace that allows users to buy and sell tickets. New sellers sign up to list their tickets all the time. We are committed to providing comprehensive event information, so sellers will always find the event for which they have tickets to sell.
15. What do I do if I see what I believe is a mistake with the event listing that I want to go to?Please notify Seatwave by email at
support@seatwave.com if you believe there is a mistake with the listings that you see. We will respond to you as soon as we can and we'll investigate the listing and correct it based on your feedback.
16. There are no tickets available to buy for my chosen event. Why?As yet, no-one has listed tickets for sale for the event you want to attend. You can get in touch with our customer service department and they will do their best to find you tickets. They can be reached at
support@seatwave.com.
17. What does the "Price History" section mean? The Price history section provides information on how much tickets for a certain event are selling for on Seatwave. This is intended to guide those selling tickets on the site and help them set their prices realistically.
18. The tickets I'm interested in have hotel rooms and meals that I have to buy as part of a package. Can I just buy the tickets on their own?Packages are offered for sale by specialist package operators and we are unable to break out separate elements of those packages.
19. Why for some listings can I buy as many tickets as I want and for some I can only buy in pairs? The ticket seller can stipulate how they want tickets split for sale. Some are happy to sell their tickets individually, others will only sell them in pairs whilst some will only sell the whole block of tickets together.
20. The tickets are sold out on Seatwave, what should I do?If there are no tickets for the event that you wish to attend, then drop us an email at
support@seatwave.com. We'll do our best to find some for you.
Buying tickets
1. I’d like to change my delivery addressIf you are no longer at the address to which you asked for your tickets to be delivered then please contact Seatwave customer service on
support@seatwave.com. . Due to security reasons we cannot take a change of address by email – the customer service team will instruct you how to make the change by fax.
2. Do I have to be home to sign for my tickets?Yes, your tickets will need to be signed for on delivery. For UPS deliveries, If there is no-one to sign for them, the courier will leave a note with details on how to re-arrange delivery at a more convenient time. In this event, please contact the courier as soon as possible. If they do not hear from you, they will attempt two more deliveries over the next two working days. After this time, the tickets will be returned to your seller.
For Royal Mail Special Delivery, Royal Mail will leave notification that they tried to deliver your tickets. The notice will include details of your nearest depot to collect the tickets.
3. What postage methods do Seatwave use?Seatwave provides sellers with the option of using either our preferred courier, UPS, or Royal Mail Special Delivery for all ticket deliveries. We insist on these methods because we want to ensure your tickets arrive safely and in time.
4. How do I buy tickets on Seatwave? We’ve set out to make buying tickets on Seatwave really simple. First find the event you are interested in attending. You’ll find a search bar on most pages that will help you find your event. Click on the date you’re after and you’ll see a list of tickets for sale. Each ticket listing will say how many tickets are for sale, where the seats are located and the cost per ticket. You can use our seat maps to help you decide where you want your seats to be. Click on the ticket listing that’s right for you and tell us how many tickets you want. You’ll then be led through a simple payment process and the tickets are yours. The tickets will arrive directly from the seller by registered post. It should all be very simple, however if you get stuck you can always contact us by emailing
support@seatwave.com or phoning us on 0207 307 9350.
5. How do I select the tickets I want for the event?Once you have found the event that you want to attend, select your tickets from the available list. You may see multiple tickets listed at varying prices. We recommend that you pay close attention to the location of seats so you are able to make an informed decision about the quality and price of tickets you wish to purchase (e.g. tickets on the half-way line for a rugby match will usually be more expensive than those placed behind the posts). You now need to select how many of these tickets you wish to purchase.
6. What is included in Seatwave’s commission?Seatwave charge buyers of tickets a 15% service charge. This allows us to deliver a safe and transparent marketplace and to provide a passionate team of people dedicated to customer service. It also covers all our buyers with our unique Ticketintegrity™ and Ticketcover™ guarantees.
7. Why are the seat numbers of tickets not shown on listings? We do not show the seat numbers of tickets on our listings in order to preserve the anonymity of our sellers.
8. Once I select tickets and press ‘buy’ are they reserved?Once you select your tickets they are reserved for approximately five minutes - so don't panic - you have time to go and grab your credit card out of the drawer! This means that for the following five minutes these tickets are not available for any other Seatwave user to buy. If you do not complete your purchase within five minutes then the tickets will be released back into the general listings pool and made available to everyone on the Seatwave website.
9. Can I reserve tickets while I look around and compare?Once you have selected tickets, they are reserved for you for five minutes to allow you to complete the payment process. After this time, they will be listed again on the site.
10. What payment methods does Seatwave accept?Seatwave accepts payment by debit card, all major credit cards and Paypal.

13. Why do I have to create an account with my email address?Creating an account with your email address allows us to keep you updated on the status of your ticket delivery. You can also use your account login to review all of your purchases on Seatwave. We also require all sellers to create an account on Seatwave. This ensures that we have all the information from sellers we need to provide our Ticketintegrity™ guarantee.
14. How can I be sure I’ll receive my tickets in time?Seatwave’s Ticketintegrity™ guarantee commits us to getting your tickets to you in good time for the event or we will refund you 100% of what you paid for your tickets.
15. Where does my password get sent? The password will be sent to the email address specified when the account is initially set up.
16. Can I change my email address? We don't recommend that you change your email address. The email address given is specific to your account and the tickets that you have purchased or sold. If it is necessary for you to change your email address then please contact our customer service department at
support@seatwave.com.
17. Can I change my password? We don’t currently allow users to change their password. If this is essential please contact our customer service department at
support@seatwave.com.
18. I haven’t received confirmation of my order, how do I know if it has been processed? You should receive an email from us confirming your order shortly after booking. If you cannot see an email from us, please check your junk mail box as it may have been diverted there. If you still can’t find it then please contact our customer services department by email at
support@seatwave.com.
19. I bought my tickets a few days ago but they still haven’t arrived – when can I expect to receive my tickets?
When you receive your tickets will depend on two factors: when you make your purchase and when the promoter sends out tickets for the event. Often promoters do not send out tickets for an event until a week or two before the event itself. These tickets then need to be sent on to you by the ticket seller. It is therefore quite normal to receive tickets during the same week as the event. As you will appreciate this is outside of the control of Seatwave.
Once your seller has dispatched your tickets, you will receive an email confirmation with a unique tracking number and instructions on how to track the status of your delivery. Don't forget that someone will need to be able to sign for the tickets.
If you have not received your tickets four days prior to the event, please contact our support team on 0207 307 9350. If you book very close to the event (i.e. in the same week), we undertake to try and get the tickets to you no later than 24 hours before the event.

Selling tickets
1. Would Seatwave be interested in buying my tickets from me?No, Seatwave does not buy or sell tickets. Our website is a platform which allows others to buy or sell tickets in a safe and secure environment.
2. Who sells tickets on Seatwave?Anyone is free to sell tickets on Seatwave as long as they abide by our strict rules. These rules ensure that people list their tickets accurately and honestly and that they deliver the tickets as promised. Seatwave itself does not sell tickets on the site - we merely provide the safe and secure platform on which buyers and sellers trade.
3. Why are other tickets cheaper or more expensive than mine?It is up to sellers to set the price they want to charge for their ticket. Those that are priced competitively tend to sell. Those that are priced far above the average tend to sell less well or take longer to sell. Additionally for many events there are different types of seats available. Those seats nearer the stage tend to be priced higher than those seats which are further away.
4. How do I know what to charge for my tickets?Seatwave provides current market pricing information which will help you to price your tickets competitively in order to sell. We will show you the price range that tickets have sold for on the site, the last price paid and the average price paid for your event. We recommend selling the tickets at a price that the market supports.
5. Why should I sell my tickets?People sell their tickets on Seatwave for a variety of reasons. Some are no longer able to attend; some have bought tickets for friends who are no longer able to attend. Whatever the reason, Seatwave is a great place to sell them to someone else who wants buy tickets in a safe and secure environment. Seatwave's TicketintegrityTM guarantees that you will receive prompt payment when your tickets sell and the event has taken place.
6. Does Seatwave charge me for listing tickets on seatwave?Listing tickets on Seatwave is free. If your tickets sell, we charge you a 10% success fee, excluding VAT, on the sale of the tickets.
7. How much does Seatwave charge for selling my tickets? It is free to list your tickets for sale on Seatwave. We only charge you if your tickets sell. If they do sell, we will charge you a 10% success fee, excluding VAT, on the value of your tickets.
8. Why do I have to specify the face value?Seatwave believe that ticket buyers should have the right to know all available information about a ticket in order to make an informed decision about their purchase. Face value is an important piece of information that helps buyers decide the value of a ticket on sale. We strongly believe that more information helps the marketplace for tickets work better.
9. How can I promote my tickets for sale on Seatwave?Seatwave sellers do not have specific store fronts or URLs to point to their own tickets, just the pages where their tickets are listed. You are free to send the links to these pages to potential buyers but be aware that you will also be promoting other tickets being sold for that event. We also recommend that you email us proof of purchase for the original tickets, whether this be email confirmation or the actual paper receipt, as we will indicate this alongside the listing.
10. Can I simultaneously list these tickets on other sites? We strongly discourage you from doing so. Once tickets you list are bought on Seatwave, you are bound to provide them to the buyer. If you no longer have the tickets, you will be responsible for reimbursing Seatwave for the cost of replacing the tickets you listed and getting new tickets to the buyer.
11. There are lots of tickets on sale for an event I have tickets for – is it worth listing mine?Seatwave attracts hundreds of thousands of ticket buyers each month. Therefore, even if there are many other tickets for sale for your event, it is still worth listing your tickets. Our market pricing information will help you understand at what price tickets for your event have been selling for. Those that are priced competitively tend to sell quickly in comparison to those that are priced well above the average.
12. There are no tickets on sale – is it worth listing mine?Absolutely! Seatwave has new users visiting all the time who are all looking to purchase tickets for events. If your tickets are the first to be listed then you have the highest chance of selling them.
13. What information should I list about the tickets? In our experience, buyers are more comfortable purchasing tickets that have lots of information about the location of the seats in the venue. If your tickets are front row, let buyers know – these will obviously attract greater interest. Where relevant we will ask you to list the block number and row number of your seat. We also recommend that you email us proof of purchase for the original tickets, whether this be email confirmation or the actual paper receipt.
14. How long can I list my tickets for?You can list your tickets for as long as you want. Please note: Five days before the event all listings are taken off the site. This is because we like to allow five days for sold tickets to be sent from the seller to the new buyer. If it’s coming up to the event, we’ll remind you that your tickets are still listed. You might want to think about what you’re charging for your tickets at that point.
15. How long will my tickets take to sell? This will depend on several factors; what the event is, how popular it is, where it is and when it is. To make sure your tickets have the best chance of selling make sure they are competitively priced compared to the others on the site.
16. Why should I send you a copy of my original proof of purchase?Sending us a copy of your proof of purchase demonstrates to us that you have bought the tickets you are offering for sale. We then place an icon next to your ticket listing confirming this. Ticket buyers like this peace of mind and experience suggests that tickets with this icon have a greater chance of selling than those that don’t.
17. How do I change the details of the tickets I have listed for sale?Simply log in to your account page. You can modify various elements of your listing by clicking on the ‘edit’ button for the relevant listing. Alternatively, cancel the listing and re-list the tickets with the revised information.
18. Can I cancel my sale at any time? You can cancel your listing on Seatwave at any time. Simply log in to your account page and delete the relevant listing. You cannot delete your listing after the tickets have sold. If the tickets have sold you must honour the transaction or your credit card will be debited for replacement tickets.
19. How do I send you a copy of my original proof of purchase?

26. When will I get paid?Once the event has taken place, we process your payment. It then takes approximately 10 days for the credit to reach your account. If you have not received payment after this time, please get in touch with our
customer services department.
27. I sold my tickets a few days ago and I haven’t received payment for the sale of my tickets?Once the event has taken place, we process your payment. It then takes approximately 10 working days for the credit to reach your account. If you have not received payment after this time, please get in touch with our
customer services department. Remember – we will pay you using the details you supplied to us when you register – you might want to check you’re 100% happy with them!
28. How will I get paid?Once your tickets have sold, we will send you a seller’s pack which will include a pre-addressed envelope to send your tickets to the buyer. We track this envelope to its destination. Once we know it has arrived and the event has taken place, we credit the card that you used to guarantee your sale with the proceeds from the sale. It takes approximately 10 working days for the credit to reach your account. If you have not received payment after this time, please get in touch with our
customer services department.
29. Can I change my payment method? If you need to arrange a different method of payment, simply log in to your Seatwave account. Click on ‘payment options’ and modify your choice.
Feedback
1. Why should I leave feedback on my event experience?Seatwave is probably the biggest community of fans of live events in the UK. By leaving feedback about concerts or other events, you can help other people in our community better decide whether to go themselves.
2. Where do I leave this feedback? We've set up a dedicated site for people to share their live event experiences. Go to seatwaveblogs.com and create a blog. If other blogs have posts on the event, you can always just leave comments, otherwise create a blog of your own and tell the world! Alternatively, many event pages have boxes where you can leave comments about the artist or event.
3. What should this feedback entail? If you can help others to enjoy the great time that you have had then it's great to share this information. What was the set list? Do you know a great little pub by a particular ground? Is there a great hotel that is just perfect for a particular venue? Share the fun!
