Good Charlotte
Good Charlotte are a US based Punk Rock band, formed in the mid nineties. Their style is often compared to other bands in the same niche such as Blink 182, Sum 41, Green Day and latterly Avenged Sevenfold. They took their name a childrens book titled: “Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage” however the actual reason that they chose this title is unclear. Despite officially forming in 1996 it took four years for the group’s debut album to hit the shelves, coming out in 2000, and was self titled “Good Charlotte”. Despite the limited success of their first album, the band went on to release another album in 2002 entitled “The Young and the Hopeless” which marked their breakthrough into mainstream success. The album went on to have no less than five singles with good US chart success, and sold over three million copies, making the release a triple platinum disc. During 2002 and 2003 they landed appearances on the huge US based entertainment show ‘Saturday Night Live’, CNN, a Cover on Rolling Stone Magazine, a full feature in the New York Times and huge amounts of playtime on both MTV and MTV2 in the United States. Despite a noticeable rotation in drummers for the band, which have now included no less than four different percussionists on five albums, Good Charlotte have managed to keep a consistent grip on their fans with a constant flow of great catchy tunes on every one of their albums to date. In 2007 they released a varied album titled “Good Morning Revival” which featured collaborations with M. Shadows and Synyster Gates of the band Avenged Sevenfold. The record received rave reviews by the groups fanbase and the critics alike, Kerrang particulary proclaiming it as one of the best albums in the groups history. Now considered a Veteran group in the punk rock genre, Good Charlotte are embarking on their third world tour with dates across the globe, playing hits from their earlier albums, and material from the new album “Cardiology”.
