What scares George Michael? By: Greg Hall29 July 2011

What scares this singing legend? Is it the paparazzi? No chance. Is it music critics? Absolutely not! Performing to a packed arena that has sold out of George Michael tickets? Well that would that be ridiculous. The thing that has put the frighteners on the vocalist is none other than… Twitter!

George Michael revealed the panic the social networking site puts him in, to Radio DJ Mark Goodier during an interview earlier this year in March: “It’s a frightening phenomenon, don’t you think? I posted something yesterday and two minutes later it was being talked about on the television in front of me.”

He continued, “it’s terrifying that there are that many people at any one time sending you a message. It’s terrifying that you can say something on Twitter and it will be on the television within minutes…I had no idea of that kind of power and I almost dropped the phone. And it’s really in its infancy still – when you think of how many people will be accessing it within another year or whatever.”

But despite his fears, he is keeping up with the trend, by posting a few cutting Twitter comments about the underfire tabloid press. His instant contact with fans has caused a clamour for George Michael tickets.

Interestingly the reason he took up Twitter was for health reasons. He joked: “I started tweeting to stop myself from smoking cigarettes”

George Michael in mourning By: Jake Bernstone28 July 2011

George Michael took a break from rehearsals for his comeback Symphonica Tour to pay tribute to his friend Amy Winehouse.  In a moving tribute, George Michael labeled her death a ‘tragedy’, whilst also calling her the most ‘soulful vocalist the country has ever seen’. He went on to admit that Back to Black was one of his favourite albums ever and sent his sincere love and thoughts to her family. It was a moving tribute by George Michael and one that Amy Winehouse’s family will appreciate.

None the less, George Michael continues to prepare himself for his big comeback tour this summer and due to the clamor for George Michael tickets, he has added two more dates in the last couple days. It is testament to the way George Michael is, that he tries to make sure that none of his fans miss out. For a man of 48, it shows dedication and physical stamina to put on all of these tour dates, travelling Europe and putting on a show night in and night out.

In yet another distraction to George Michael’s concert preparations, last week he was interviewed by police about the News of the World hacking investigation, which it has been proposed he was a victim of. Yet despite all the speed bumps along the way, George Michael continues to live life with a smile on his face and concentrating on giving back to his adoring legion of fans.

George Michael’s First Crush was Debbie Harry! By: Greg Hall27 July 2011

Despite the tenderness of his tracks, the singer doesn’t quite have a Heart of Glass, but it did once belong to Blondie singer Debbie Harry- who was his first crush.

With George Michael tickets on sale for his Symphonica tour which kicks off in Prague next month, you might expect him to be worrying. Quite the contrary, the vocalist is so confident about the tour going well, he has been chilling out! A couple of weeks ago he went to the mud sodden Lovebox music festival in London, and met his teenage dream, Ms. Harry.

The Careless Whisperer admitted that he fantasised about her as an adolescent, before realising he was gay. The 48 year old revealed all to Debbie 66, during the festival.

Reflecting on their chance meeting he posted on his Twitter page: “She (Debbie) looked great. I told her that before I worked out I was a poof she was my first crush … (which is true!)… Not sure if she took it as a compliment. (Sic)”

The songster officially came out in 1998, after being found engaging in an indecent act in a public lavatory in Beverly Hills. He famously poked fun at the debacle, dressing as an L.A.P.D police officer, in the video for his song, Outside. Fans with George Michael tickets can perhaps expect a classical re-working of the tune on his strings driven Symphonica tour.

They can also expect a passionate performance from a man who is back on top of his game.

George Michael tells of his sorrow at the death of Amy Winehouse By: Andy Hirst26 July 2011

George Michael tickets may be selling quickly for his upcoming Symphonia tour, but the star stopped rehearsing to express his sorrow at the tragic news of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death.

On his Twitter feed, Michael sent his condolences to the star’s family and showed his admiration for the singer, who he described as ‘one of the best songwriters of all time.’

He went on to say: “Amy was, in my opinion, the most soulful vocalist this country has ever seen. And her album Back To Black was one of the best albums I had heard since the seventies. No question.”

While the music world continues to mourn the sad passing of a wonderfully gifted individual, George Michael continues to gear up for his imminent tour of the UK and Europe.

With demand reaching such high levels, the former Wham star has had to add extra dates to the already extensive gigging schedule. Audiences will have the chance to see the multi-award winning singer perform live accompanied by a symphonic orchestra for the first time in his career.

Following a relatively quiet spell in his career, the singing sensation has been causing quite a stir in the music world of late. Reconciliation performances with his former collaborator Elton John were met with great appreciation and George Michael tickets continue to be eagerly sought after by his devoted fans.

George Michael takes us to a new dimension By: Liz Tray26 July 2011

When George Michael announced that his 2006/7  25 Live concert tour would be his last, an inevitable rush for George Michael tickets was the result. But did we really believe he’d pack it all in for a quiet life once the tour was over? Thought not! So, in a move that is sure to thrill his legions of fans, he has announced a unique new foray into the interpretation of his own songs and those of his most loved artists – The Symphonica Tour.

According to his website, he’ll head out on the road between August and December this year, covering 15 European countries. The shows will include no less than three dates in London – at the Royal Albert Hall, the O2 and the plush Royal Opera House. During the 25 Live tour he played to packed arenas worldwide, belting out his hits in front of a state-of-the-art 3D LED screen. The giant screen responded to the musicians’ performance, and many thought he wouldn’t top it for sheer spectacle.

So, sensibly, he’s decided not to – the Symphonica tour surrounds him with an orchestra, adding a new dimension to his performance, and showcasing his best asset – that extraordinary, rich iconic voice. Few British artists would be able to get up on stage behind an orchestra and excel; he has the voice and the songs, so getting a George Michael ticket to such an event will prove to be one of the nights of the year!

George Michael gets into Twitter row with Jeremy Clarkson By: Lauren Johnson-Ginn22 July 2011

Any fan with George Michael tickets will probably be aware of the singer’s reputation for being outspoken and frequently controversial. Having been very prolific in his recent tweets regarding the News of the World phone hacking scandal, his latest outburst has been aimed at Jeremy Clarkson, host of BBC’s Top Gear.

George recently posted a video of a bright pink Bentley on his Twitter page, accompanied by the comment: “Ladies and gentleman this thing, this revolting thing is a Bentley in pink driven by a man – and it’s not me. I swear this is real. And I sound like Jeremy Clarkson with someone’s finger up his a***, it’s a camp classic all round.”

Clarkson then seemingly retaliated, making an offensive remark aimed at Michael, whilst reviewing the Jaguar XKRS during a recent Top Gear episode. He said: “It’s very fast and very, very loud. And then in the corners it will get its tail out more readily than George Michael.”

Incensed, George took to Twitter to present his comeback – and he wasn’t pulling any punches. He tweeted: “Good grief Mr Clarkson, I wasn’t implying your towering heterosexuality was in question. I had no desire to insult you. But I do now, you pig-ugly homophobic t**t!”

Jeremy has yet to say anything in reply – which is probably for the best, all things considered. The Careless Whisper singer will be embarking on his European Symphonica tour later this year and George Michael tickets are currently on sale for upcoming dates in major cities across the UK.

George Michael: review of 2004′s Patience By: Greg Hall21 July 2011

George Michael is a rarity, having successfully made the transition from teeny-pop idol to mature adult performer, and the continued demand for George Michael tickets comes from an enduring fan base.

The Symphonica tour looks set to be one of the highlights in a career that has been thrilling and tumultuous to say the least. Michael’s L.P Patience entered the musical landscape in 2004 and fans with George Michael tickets can expect to hear some of the album’s songs reworked with an orchestral arrangement during his tour.

Patience arrived with a sound filled with trademark 1980s elements, with the twang of a fretless bass and a multitude of sampled choral voices. However, the strong songwriting on some of the stand-out tracks meant that the arrangement took something of a back seat.

The deeply personal content of the album gave it poignancy. My Mother Has a Brother is a frank piece, which explores his family history to reveal a gay uncle who committed suicide around the time he was born. Precisely tailored, it never becomes morbid; the emotional effect warms the soul.

Round Here is a nostalgic pastiche about Michael’s childhood. One lyric hilariously describes Wham! as ‘two little Hitlers’. This dramatic juxtaposition conjures a bizarre image: they may have been bad boys, but invading Poland probably wasn’t on their agenda.

Patience still remains a sublime, passionate blend of melody and wit, making it a pleasurable 70 minutes of listening time.

George Michael’s star still brighter than ever By: Jake Bernstone20 July 2011

Demand to see him has been sky high – so much so that he has been forced to add new tour dates in many major cities. Despite past problems in his personal life, his star seems to be shining as bright as ever.

Thinking back to his past success, it’s no surprise that George Michael tickets are selling at lightning speed. He is a multiple award winner, he has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and he recently re-released his classic 80s album, Faith.

In addition to all this, he’s been in counselling for 10 months now to free himself of substance abuse and is on a gruelling fitness regime in order to shed the pounds and ensure he is in tip-top condition for his sell-out concerts.

George Michael lives it up at Lovebox By: Lauren Johnson-Ginn19 July 2011

George Michael tickets are currently on sale for his upcoming Symphonica tour and fans are eager to see him strut his stuff live on stage. The fans aren’t the only ones who can enjoy live music, of course, and George demonstrated this by having a fantastic time at London’s Lovebox festival this weekend.

Lovebox is an annual festival held for three days at London’s Victoria Park. The line-up this year included Beth Ditto, Blondie, the Scissor Sisters, Katy B, Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Santigold, Miss Dynamite and numerous other top acts.

George Michael attended the Sunday date, and kept all his Twitter followers updated on his backstage VIP networking shenanigans. He tweeted: “Went to Lovebox festival Sunday… Met the lesbian chanteuse that is Beth Ditto. She was a sweetheart.”

This was swiftly followed by another tweet: “And moments later, Debbie Harry!! She looked great. I told her that before I worked out I was a poof she was my first crush….(which is true!) Not sure if she took it as a compliment..)”

And finally, he concluded: “Bumped into Jake Shears from the Scissor sisters who was as friendly and cute as he always is. So it was definitely worth putting up with the rain…. :)”

Fans with George Michael tickets for his upcoming shows won’t need to worry about weather conditions, as the legendary pop icon will be playing at some of the best venues across the UK, including the Royal Opera House in London.

George Michael inflames News of the World scandal By: Tali Amar19 July 2011

Although former Wham! icon George Michael has endured his fair share of media humiliation, the notorious News of the World phone hacking scandal has given the talented musician his long-deserved vindication.

While the 48-year-old Brit continues to fuel the allegations against the News of the World, George Michael tickets are selling at a phenomenal rate for his fabulous Symphonica tour.

The News of the World was first published in 1843, and after years of keeping Britain informed about celebrity news and gossip, the newspaper is officially no more.

As an alleged victim of phone hacking, the three-time Brit Award winner helped to uncover the severity of the situation – and expressed his views in favour of the closure of the newspaper.

On the day of the paper’s closure, the Careless Whisper singer tweeted: ”Hey boyz and girls, a message to my English fans in particular. Today is a fantastic day for Britain.”

In a series of tweets, Michael reiterated how celebrities and citizens have been denied the law by News International, with support from fellow Tweeters, including recent number 1 chart topper Example, who tweeted: “The News of the World is being shut down?? How is Kerry Katona gonna feed her kids!?”

George Michael also made serious accusations of corruption against the News of the World’s former editor Rebekah Brooks – and has now been asked by authorities to help with the police investigation.

The UK leg of the Symphonica tour kicks off in October, so don’t miss out on your chance to get George Michael tickets and see this pop icon perform his greatest hits live on stage.

Boy George and George Michael collaborate on new track By: Lauren Johnson-Ginn19 July 2011

Fans with George Michael tickets will be excited to hear that the Careless Whisper singer has teamed up with fellow 80s icon Boy George on a new dance track titled Every Other Lover.

Boy George was the first to set up a dialogue, whilst Michael was in jail, and the pair have since bonded over their shared experiences with drug abuse and imprisonment. The Karma Chameleon singer revealed:

“I wrote to George when he was away and we spoke a couple of months after he came out. Now we are in constant contact. He knows I am involved in the dance world. He sent me a new track. I loved it and I suggested a couple of people to mix it.”

Boy George also disclosed that the new song is a “big, sexy dance anthem” and suggested that some fans might not even recognise Michael’s vocals. He said:

“It is interesting. Some people will recognise George’s distinctive voice, but others will be asking, ‘what is that record?’ Right now, I’m the only person who has it. It’s really exciting. I’ve been playing it in clubs and it is getting a good reaction.”

If the track takes off, fans with George Michael tickets for the upcoming Symphonica tour might even be lucky enough to get an exclusive listen at his upcoming UK concerts. The UK leg of the tour kicks off in London on October 25th and will see Michael perform his greatest hits, accompanied by a full symphonic orchestra.

George Michael: talent equals longevity By: Greg Hall19 July 2011

When current sensations like Adele and Katy Perry look at established acts and see that the demand for Take That and George Michael tickets remains astronomically high, they probably ponder, what is the key to longevity? Well that sacred ingredient is one thing. It’s talent.

With the latter’s Symphonica tour set to flourish in all its opulent orchestral majesty, devoted fans with George Michael tickets are locked in anticipation.

In light of this, here’s a trip down memory lane to the 1990s when the pop legend was riding high amid a wave of smash hits and controversy…

At the close of 1991, the vocalist’s duet with Elton John on Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me was released, becoming a massive success. It’s the only number one of the modern era to have been recorded at an outdoor venue (Wembley Arena).

In 1992, his proposed third L.P, Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 2 was entangled in a feud between Michael and his record label, Sony. He binned the album and the single Too Funky was the final release for Sony, before a lengthy legal battle proceeded to terminate his contract.

After a short hiatus, he came back with number one UK single Jesus to a Child in 1996. The haunting ballad was a tribute to his lover, Anselmo Feleppa, who died the previous year. Its follow-up, Fastlove also topped the British charts. The accompanying album, Older, was his first in six years.

George Michael collaborates with Boy George By: Andy Hirst19 July 2011

George Michael tickets are set see yet another surge in demand following the news that the star has recently collaborated on a track with Boy George.

With his much anticipated Symphonia tour just months away, the former Wham star is in the height of his ascendancy, having ended a bitter feud with his old friend and collaborator Elton John.

His recent collaboration is part of a recent move towards more club orientated music that he has begun to embrace far more, after coming out as an openly gay man,

Boy George has used his dance music connections to aid Michael’s move toward that direction with the new track, which is described as a “big sexy dance anthem”.

Speaking about the collaboration Boy George said: “I wrote to George when he was away and we spoke a couple of months after he came out. Now we are in constant contact. He knows I am involved in the dance world. He sent me the new track. I loved it and I suggested a couple of people to mix it.”

Although Michael has embraced a more club orientated direction for some of his latest recordings, his upcoming live show will feature a far different aspect of his sound.

The Symphonia tour will see the award winning artist performing with a symphonic orchestra at a series of dates at huge venues across the UK and Europe.

Demand for George Michael tickets has been so phenomenal that he has had to add extra dates to cater for all of his dedicated fans.

George Michael continues to fuel the News Of The World debate By: Andy Hirst17 July 2011

As he continues to fuel the debate about the underhanded tactics employed by journalists at the News Of The World, George Michael tickets are still being met by a phenomenal demand for his upcoming Symphonia tour.

Comments made by the star on his Twitter feed have inflamed the controversy currently raging in the media and the House Of Commons.

As an alleged victim of the phone hacking scandal, the multi award winning song writer has not held back when expressing his condemnation of the media organisation and its CEO Rebekah Brooks.

Whereas other stars have kept their comments fairly general, the former Wham star has gone so far as to back the allegations that officers from the Metropolitan Police were tipping News Of The World journalists off about the actions of celebrities.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “Don’t get me wrong, I met (a lot!) of perfectly decent policemen and women in my darkest, most shameful hours, but I (also) knew that the press would get to my house before I did (after any arrest). On every occasion, some little creep in that police station would have called the press, cap in hand, and made a nice little wad of cash.”

The investigation concerning the phone hacking and the police tip-offs is still ongoing, despite the closure of the Sunday newspaper and police are rumoured to have ask the singing sensation to assist them in their work.

In the meantime, George Michael tickets for his upcoming stadium shows in the UK and Europe continue to fly off the shelf, as eager fans hope to see their hero perform live with a symphonic orchestra for the first time ever.

George Michael tweets about phone hacking scandal By: Elizabeth Leight17 July 2011

As George Michael tickets continue to sell for his tour of Europe and the UK later this year, the singer has become vocal about more than his music.

While recent headlines about Michael have centred on his upcoming, highly-anticipated Symphonica concert series, the singer has lately shown strong support for the investigation into News of the World. New developments in the phone hacking scandal come out every day, and some of the most recent have to do with comments Michael made on Twitter about former News International CEO Rebekah Brooks, who resigned from her position on Friday.

In fact, Michael told his Twitter followers that the police have asked to interview him about the things he wrote. “I have way more to tell the police than I can tweet to you here,” he said.

Michael isn’t hiding the fact that he’s been very pleased to see these developments unfold, and has been using Twitter to convey his opinions about the daily happenings. “News International’s Axis of Evil (is) falling like a house of cards, and (there’s) so much more to come.”

Meanwhile, George Michael tickets for this year’s Symphonica tour are selling like mad. In between Twitter rants, Michael has mentioned that he’s working on things “for my lovelies”, so we can only imagine that he’s putting all effort into creating the performance of a lifetime. The singer/songwriter has re-worked both his own songs and his favourite hits to be played by an orchestra, demonstrating his incredible musical talent in a whole new way.

George Michael to speak to police over phone hacking By: Andy Hirst16 July 2011

As George Michael tickets for his upcoming Symphonia tour get snapped up at an exceptional rate, the star is rumoured to be helping the police investigate the News Of The World phone hacking scandal.

As a one time victim of the underhanded journalistic methods employed by staff at the now defunct publication, Michael has previously been a vocal opponent of its reporters and its CEO Rebekah Brooks.

Now it seems his comments have drawn the interest of the Metropolitan Police.

On his Twitter feed the former Wham wrote: “Just spoke to my lawyer…apparently they want to interview me interview me about my comments about Rebekah Brooks. Like I said, glad to help…:) I have way more to tell the police than I can tweet you on here… Believe it or not, I’ve been careful so far!”

The popular Sunday newspaper published for the last time last weekend amid controversy over the floods of allegation about phone hacking.

While many of its journalists still face the possibility of criminal prosecutions, George Michael is gearing up for his massive tour of the UK and Europe.

His Symphonia tour will offer luck audiences a chance to see the singing sensation perform with a symphonic orchestra at huge venues all across the UK and Europe.

The exciting prospect has been met by huge demand, resulting in the award winning superstar booking extra dates to give his loyal fans the chance to pick up a pair of George Michael tickets.

George Michael makes serious News of the World allegations By: Lauren Johnson-Ginn15 July 2011

With the Symphonica tour due to kick off later this year and George Michael tickets currently on sale, the iconic singer has been making the headlines recently for airing his political views via the social networking site, Twitter.

Speaking out about the News of the World phone hacking scandal, he alleged that News International had tried to destroy him: “I can safely say that I am one of the few people amongst the thousands of News International’s targets to have genuinely benefitted from Murdoch’s attempts to destroy me.”

Michael has been the focus of tabloid scrutiny for many years, particularly during his battles with drugs and clashes with the law. He also revealed via Twitter that he suspected police of being involved in media tip-offs.

He wrote: “The press would get to my house before I did. On every occasion, some little creep in that police station would have called the press. Cap in hand, and made a nice little wad of cash. I just became resigned to it. Perks of the job in the Met.”

George has since tweeted with the news that the police wish to interview him based on the allegations – particularly in connection to Rebekah Brooks, the former chief executive of News International.

Politics aside, if you would like to hear this global superstar perform all his classic anthems live on stage, then make sure you get George Michael tickets for his upcoming UK Symphonica tour.

George Michael: 5 of his best By: Greg Hall15 July 2011

2011 has been a positive year for the reformed songsmith. He’s helping to tackle the intrusive fallen tabloid the News of the World, he’s reconciled with Sir Elton John and most importantly George Michael tickets are currently on sale for his ambitious orchestral tour, Symphonica.

With the extravaganza kicking off in Prague next month, the question that all fans with George Michael tickets will be contemplating is: how will the singer’s greatest hits sound, when re-arranged for classical accompaniment? Let’s take a look at some of his best-loved songs, in preparation for this much-anticipated series of concerts.

Fast Love: This is a groovy, saucy and downright catchy tune. The closing bars of the song are a re-sung but identical version of the chorus from Patrice Rushen’s song Forget Me Nots.

Faith: This is one of the soloist’s most enduring songs, with an infectious acoustic guitar riff and punchy chorus. Surprisingly, American rockers Limp Bizkit covered the track on their 1997 album Three Dollar Bill Yall$. This uplifting slice of delicious dance pop is an ode to Michael’s long term partner, Kenny Goss.

I Want Your Sex: Controversial because of its racy content, this dancey number faced censorship issues when released way back in 1987. The stir it caused ensured it was the star’s second global number one.

Careless Whisper: Another timeless track from the 1980s, this is quite possibly his signature track. The vocalist claims to have devised the iconic saxophone riff in his head riding the number 32 bus home.

George Michael helps News of the World investigation By: Greg Hall14 July 2011

In the past, the pop superstar has had an unfavourably high profile in the press. These days he’s focused on his forthcoming Symphonica tour, which will give lucky fans with George Michael tickets an exciting opportunity to see him live on stage, accompanied by a full symphonic orchestra.

However, in the aftermath of the phone-hacking scandal, the now defunct News of the World has been dealt another blow. Last week, George Michael publicly attacked the paper’s former editor, Rebekah Brooks, via Twitter, and now authorities have asked for his co-operation in their investigations.

The Jesus to a Child singer tweeted the news, stating that officials had requested to interview him about comments made in relation to Rebekah Brooks.

Michael celebrated the Sunday newspaper’s demise and told followers that he once confronted Brooks, after she entered his home to inform him that police tipped reporters off about his personal activities.

The hit-maker now believes he was among the multitude of celebrities whose phone was tapped by the newspaper in their attempts to land a scoop. The News of the World’s reporters and editors are accused of acquiring the phone messages of murder victims, politicians and celebrities.

In his latest series of tweets, Michael commended staff at the Guardian newspaper for unveiling the full facts about the outrageous actions of the disgraced red-top. He also rounded on private investigator Jonathan Rees, whom he maintains is a significant figure in the controversy.

The UK leg of the Symphonica tour kicks off in October, and George Michael tickets are now on sale for upcoming concerts in major cities across the UK, including London, Liverpool and Glasgow.

George Michael and “True Faith” By: Chris Olson14 July 2011

As George Michael tickets go on sale for his Symphonica tour, excitement for the pop sensation is reaching new highs. On top of this, he also recently released a cover version of New Order’s epic song, True Faith, which could well be a reference to Michael’s classic hit Faith.

The original version by New Order is regarded as one of the best tracks to emerge from the nineties, and is still popular today. George Michael’s version is a very different take on it, going at a far slower pace, and using an electronic/robotic effect on his vocals. This was a risky approach, but one which has paid off. Many of those with George Michael tickets may be hoping for a performance of this epic cover.

Originally a charity single for Comic Relief, the song has become one of Michael’s most well-known covers. It was an excellent choice for the artist, as it brings together themes so fundamental for the charity, such as holding on to hope.

George Michael has covered many famous songs over his time in the music industry, and has even recorded a whole album of them, entitled Songs From The Last Century (1999). This album included some amazing versions of popular songs, such as Roxanne by The Police and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack, both of which are renowned tracks.

If you want a chance to see Michael perform an amazing collection of his own songs, as well as a few choice covers, then you need to buy George Michael tickets now!
