FAQ
What does Seatwave do?
Seatwave is in the business of getting passionate fans to the events they love by making it easier and safer for people to buy and sell tickets. Our goal is to build the biggest, most trusted and most inspiring marketplace for event tickets.

Anyone is free to sell legitimate tickets on Seatwave including ticketing agencies - this helps us ensure that we have the widest range of tickets possible. However, Seatwave are not affiliated with any of these agencies.
Does Seatwave itself sell tickets?
No, Seatwave itself does not buy or sell tickets. We exist purely as a marketplace where people can find the tickets they are looking for or sell tickets they no longer need.
Selling your tickets
1. Who sells tickets on Seatwave?
Seatwave does not sell the tickets on the site we are merely the exchange platform for such sales. The tickets are owned by individuals who list the tickets and Seatwave provides a 100% TicketIntegrityTM guarantee for all sales.
2. Why should I sell my tickets?
If you're unable to attend an event, Seatwave is a great way to sell them to someone else in a safe environment. Seatwave's TicketIntegrityTM guarantee ensures that your selling experience will be first rate.
3. How do I know what to charge for my tickets?
Seatwave provides current market pricing information which allows you to price your tickets competitively to the market. We recommend selling the tickets at a price that the market supports. A much lower price than the market average should represent a quicker sale but a smaller value whilst charging more than the market is recommending would suggest this ticket will not sell as quickly as some others
4. Why are other tickets cheaper or more expensive than mine?
It is totally up to sellers to set the price they want to charge.
5. There are lots of tickets on sale for an event I have tickets for – is it worth listing mine?
If you want to sell your tickets then Seatwave is the best place on the web to do so. It is worth remembering that the marketplace determines whether your tickets might sell and at what price. If there are a lot of tickets for sale it might be worth offering a competitive price to allow your tickets to stand out from the rest that are listed.
6. There are no tickets on sale – is it worth listing mine?
Absolutely! The market Information will tell you how many tickets have previously sold for that event so you can see the trading history on Seatwave. Seatwave has new users visiting all the time who are all looking to purchase tickets for events. If your tickets are the first to be listed then you have the highest chance of selling them.
7. What information should I list about the tickets?
The more information the better. In our experience, buyers are more comfortable purchasing tickets which have lots of information about their location in the venue. If your tickets are front row, let buyers know – these will obviously hold a higher value. We also recommend that you send us proof of purchase for the original tickets, whether this be email confirmation or the actual paper receipt.
8. How long can I list my tickets for?
Your tickets can be listed up to five days before the event. This will give you time to send the tickets to the buyer and guarantee they receive them in time.
9. How long will my tickets take to sell?
This will completely depend on the event and the performance you are selling tickets for. Some tickets will sell in minutes, some events will sell in the week leading up to the event. To make sure your tickets have the best chance of selling make sure they are competitively priced compared to the others on the site.
10. How can I promote my tickets for sale on Seatwave?
Seatwave sellers do not have specific store fronts or URLs to point to their own tickets, just the pages where their tickets are listed. You are free to send the links to these pages to potential buyers but be aware that you will also be promoting other tickets being sold for that event. We also recommend that you send us proof of purchase for the original tickets, whether this be email confirmation or the actual paper receipt, as we will indicate this alongside the listing.
11. How do I send you a copy of my original proof of purchase?
You can email, fax or post us a copy of your original receipt. Remember to quote your transaction ID.

12. Will I have any contact with the buyers of my tickets?
The only contact with the buyer you will have is the physical sending of the tickets. You won’t need to chase the buyer for payment. Seatwave will take care of all of that for you.
13. How will I send my tickets to the person that buys them?
You will receive an email from Seatwave detailing specific instructions on the process of sending tickets to buyers. You will receive a Seatwave seller's kit with a pre-paid envelope and the buyers name and address. All that is required is to follow the instructions provided in the seller’s pack and your transaction will be completed in minutes.
14. Can I simultaneously list these tickets on other sites?
We strongly discourage you from doing so. Once tickets you list are bought on Seatwave, you are bound to provide them to the buyer. If you no longer have the tickets, you will be responsible for reimbursing Seatwave for the cost of replacing the tickets you listed and getting new tickets to the buyer.
15. How will I know when they are sold?
You will receive an email from Seatwave confirming the sale and the sale price of the ticket. A seller's pack will be dispatched to you immediately, containing all the instructions for getting the tickets to the buyer.
16. I have more than one ticket – can I specify how many I sell at one time?
You can sell as many tickets as you have at one time. You can also specify whether you wish to sell them in pairs or individually.
17. What do I do if the event I want to sell tickets for is not listed?
Please contact us, we will add the event to our listings so you can sell your tickets.
18. Does Seatwave charge me for listing tickets on seatwave?
There is no charge for listing tickets on Seatwave. There will be an administration fee charged to buyers and sellers from Seatwave when tickets are sold.
19. Why do I have to specify the face value?
Seatwave is a transparent environment with an ethos of supplying all the ticket information available. Face value is an important piece of information that helps buyers decide as to whether to buy the tickets. We strongly believe that more information helps the marketplace for tickets work better.
Receiving your tickets
1. How do I receive my tickets?
You will receive your tickets via Royal Mail Special Delivery or UPS well before the date of the event. Your delivery will have to be signed for to confirm receipt.
2. I have moved? How do I get my tickets?
If you are no longer at the address to which the tickets have been sent please contact Seatwave customer service on
support@seatwave.com or 020 7101 5199 and we will take care of everything.
3. Do I have to be home to sign for my tickets?
Yes, these tickets will need to be signed for. If you are not at home when the tickets are delivered, you will receive a notification from the dispatch provider that they tried to deliver your tickets. It's your responsibility to follow up with your dispatch provider to make sure you get your tickets.
4. What postage methods do Seatwave use?
Seatwave uses Royal Mail registered post and UPS only. We insist on these methods because we want to ensure your tickets arrive safely and in time.
Finding your event
1. How do I find the event I am looking for?
There are two main ways to find the event you are looking for on Seatwave. You can use the menus and listings to browse through to the relevant sections of the site (e.g if you are looking for tickets for a Kylie Minogue show you would navigate through Concerts>Pop and Rock> Kylie Minogue to find your tickets). You can also search the site to find events, venues and tickets by simply typing in the name of the artist, team, band, show or venue in the search box. You can also use the 'Advanced Search' which is located just beneath the search form in the top bar. If you cannot find an event just email us with the name of the event you are looking to go to and we will email you when tickets for this event become available.
2. What events does Seatwave list?
Seatwave lists tickets for thousands of performances across multiple categories and the three main genres of Concerts, Theatre and Sports. We try to offer a broad range of events and are constantly adding events to our site on a daily basis. If there are events that you want to buy tickets for that we don't have, please email us with the name of these events. We will try to find tickets to the event and then email you when these tickets become available.
3. Is there any difference between searching for events or browsing for events in navigation?
There is no difference. These events are the same – there are simply two ways for our members to find event tickets
4. How do I know if there are tickets available to the event I want to attend?
If there are tickets available to buy for the event you will see a 'Buy' button next to the event name. If there is no buy button next to the event we do not currently have tickets available for this event. If there are events that you want to buy tickets for that we don't have, please email us with the name of these events. We will try to find tickets to the event and then email you when these tickets become available.
5. Why are their multiple listings of tickets available for the event I want to attend?
Seatwave aims to give multiple choice to our consumers, that is why you will see a variety of listings for each event.
6. Why is the event listed if there are no tickets available?
Seatwave is a marketplace that allows users to buy and sell tickets with new sellers signing up to list their tickets all the time. We are committed to providing comprehensive event information, so Seatwave can be useful even when you are not interested in buying or selling tickets – you just want to know what is going on!
7. What do I do if I see what I believe is a mistake with the event listing that I want to go to?
Please notify Seatwave if you believe there is a mistake with the listings that you see. We answer all emails and will respond as soon as we can. We will investigate the listing and correct it based on your feedback.
Selecting your seat
1. How do I select the tickets I want for the event?
Once you have found the event that you want to attend, select your tickets from the available list. You may see multiple tickets listed at varying prices. These will often be priced by the sellers according to the seats they have listed (e.g tickets on the half-way line for a rugby match will usually be more expensive than those placed behind the goal). We recommend that you pay close attention to the location of tickets so you are able to make an informed decision about the quality and price of tickets you wish to purchase.
2. Once I select them are they reserved?
Once you select your tickets they are reserved for approximately five minutes - so don't panic - you have plenty of time to go and grab your credit card out of the drawer! This means that for the following five minutes these tickets are not available for any other Seatwave users to buy. If you do not complete your purchase within 5 minutes then the tickets will be released back into the general listings pool and made available to everyone on the Seatwave website.
3. Why does Seatwave only have certain tickets for sale for events?
Seatwave is a marketplace for our fans to buy and sell tickets to events. Seatwave does not run an event box office with tickets to all sections of arenas and grounds. We will only display tickets that our users have listed on our site.
4. Why for some listings can I buy as many tickets as I want and for some I can only buy in pairs?
This depends both on choices made by the seller and the specifics of the event. For some events, we will have numerous single tickets for sale and for others sellers may specify that they only want to be sold in pairs.
5. How can I see in the venue where my seats are located?
Use the seat map provided on the event page to see where your seats are located. This will give you a good indication of where you will be sitting. If the venue is general admission/standing you will not have a reserved space and we recommend you get their early to get a vantage point close to the stage.
6. If the exact seats I want aren't available, should I wait for them to become available?
In time we hope to develop tools that will allow you to tell us what you're looking for in a much more specific and granular way, however, presently Seatwave displays only the tickets that have been listed for sale on the site and we can't guarantee any tickets that may or may not be listed in the future.
7. The tickets I'm interested in have hotel rooms and meals that I have to buy as part of a package. Can I just buy the tickets on their own?
Packages are offered for sale by Seatwave users and we don't break out separate elements of packages.
Feedback
1. Why should I leave feedback on my event experience?
Seatwave is all about the live experience and the sharing of that live experience! We want to know what you thought of the time you had and what was so special about it.
2. Where do I leave this feedback?
We've set up a dedicated site for people to share their live event experiences. Go to seatwaveblogs.com and create a blog. If other blogs have posts on the event, you can always just leave comments, otherwise create a blog and tell the world!
3. What should this feedback entail?
If you can help others to enjoy the great time that you have had then it’s great to share this information. Do you know a great little pub by a particular ground? Is there a great hotel that is just perfect for a particular venue? Share the fun!
