The countdown has begun to what should be one of the most memorable World Heavyweight boxing title fights in years. It's David "Hayemaker" Haye vs Audley "The A-Force" Harrison. It's been 17 long years since we've had a fight of this magnitude in our country between two leading heavy weights, think back to when Frank Bruno fought Lennox Lewis in Cardiff. One thing is for sure, the wait will be worthwhile because this fight is going to be pure fireworks! It's become apparent that these two really don't like each other, with a spicy press conference with neither pulling any punches or holding back on the juicy insults. David Haye has become a house hold name in recent years due to his exciting boxing style, arrogant manorism, omnipresence on the naff TV circuit and catwalk model good looks. He's been the Heavy Weight champ we've been waiting for since Lennox hung up his gloves a few years back. David Haye tickets have allways been hot commodities, a fact backed up by the sell out crowds at this last three fights in the UK against tough American brawler John Ruiz at the MEN arena as well as his fights with Monte Barrett and Enzo Maccarinelli at the O2 Arena in London. Since winning his world title against the Russian "Beast from the East" Nicolai Valuev, David Haye has been chasing down the Klitschko brothers, calling them out in public regularly to face him in world Heavy weight title unification bouts to bring credibility to the division but alas to no avail with the Russian brothers happy to slug away with the division's washed up set. Which brings us to Mr Harrison....In a bizzare twist of fate and in a fight that fans thought would never happen Audley Harrison takes on David Haye for the number one prize in the sport. Audley's career since winning the Olympic Super Heavy weight title has been chequered to say the least with him continung to flatter to deceive on many occasions. Since Sydney where he walked into a huge BBC TV deal, Audley Harrison has been classed as a major dissapointment but now seems to have dragged himself up from oblivion and into the fight of his live. He was victorious in Barry Hearn's Prize Fighter series and then defeated Michael Sprott to the EBU crown, now miraculously he's back where he allways claimed he would be. David Haye sees it as an insult he has to fight Audley but also sees it as his duty to get rid of the joke that is Audley Harrison so lets get this on! Tickets for this fight are available in all places in the Manchester Evening news arena - dont miss out this will be history!
