NBA Europe Live is back again this year at the O2 with another slam dunking, fast breaking, lay-upping event of definite quality. This October sees the NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at London’s most prestigious venue. Now a lock in the annual sports calendar, this annual game attracts crowds-a-plenty as well as a tranche of celebs courtside. Previous years have seen the likes of the Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and the New Jersey Nets grace London showcasing some of the leagues biggest names including Dwyane Wade, Vince Carter, Derrick Rose, Derron Williams, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. This years sees the biggest name of them all as defending NBA champs, the LA Lakers come to town. They are the marquee name in the sport and attract the superstar names courtside at their Staples center home, you only have to see a Lakers game on TV to glimpse the likes of Jack Nicholson, Leonard Dicaprio and Larry David. The Lakers line up is one the best in the sport undoubtedly led by 5 time NBA title winner and global icon Kobe Bryant. Bryant will go down in history as one of the greatest to ever play the game and the chance to see him in the flesh in London is one that you just can’t miss. The supporting cast around Bryant is pretty solid as well with All Stars Pau Gasol, Ron Artest and Lamar Odom making up one of the NBA’s best ever teams. After beating the Celtics this year in seven games, the Lakers cemented their place as a Dynasty, rivaling that of the classic Lakers team in the eighties of Magic Johnson, James Worthy and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The Minnesota Timberwolves will obviously be the underdogs in this one but expect to see a plucky, tough team that is on the up and up.
