Kasabian seem the likely successors to the throne of rock ‘n roll in the UK as many of their contemporaries, such as Franz Ferdinand and the Kaizer Chiefs, have fallen by the way side. Kasabian have managed to succeed to the throne thanks to a manic mixture of pure rock and roll riffs, mesmeric stage presence and just a touch of real rock and roll flair! Just when the guitar loving public believed that all was lost, with the split of Oasis, Kasabian stepped up to the plate and have consistently rocked. Their live stage presence is something that has not been since the big rockers of the 70’s. What makes them worth seeing live in 2011? Firstly the fact that they are touring new material from their new album ‘Velociraptor’ and they have three previous albums of absolutely stella material to back them up. Their first, self titled album ‘Kasabian’, their sophomore release ‘Empire’ (a personal favourite) and their 2009 album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’. They took the risky step of naming them self after a member of the infamous killing Manson family, Linda Kasabian. In 2005 they released their debut self titled LP and exploded when their single “Club Foot” became a monster hit across the World. With it’s instinctive buzzing bass line intro becoming used on multiple adverts, TV shows and the like. They followed this up with the even bigger single “LSF” which took the band over the top and into the nation’s hearts. Kasabian released their next LP Empire in 2006 which continued their trend of big singles, releasing three – “Empire”, “Shoot the runner” and “Me plus one” The band then released their third LP in “2009” – “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum” – this was their most successful LP yet wining them a Brit Award for the UK’s best band. The future is massively bright for Kasabian – expect them to hold the mantle as the UK’s biggest band for many years to come – but don’t miss out grab Kasabian tickets now and see them at their peak in some of the UK’s biggest and best venues now!
