I’m afraid it was a case of “The Emperors’ New Clothes” at the Capital Arena, with people dazzled by memories of a star that’s long faded rather than the performance on the night. Dylan has always had a unique singing style, but it worked well with his cutting and sometimes tender lyrics. However that voice has long deserted him to replaced by a low mumble and dry rising growl that is at times indecipherable. This coupled with a switch to an over-powering rock accompaniment and a complete change of arrangement to many classic songs meant some songs were totally unrecognisable. Your critic writes of the standing ovation Dylan received, but chooses to ignore the number people rising from their seats to leave the arena early. I’m fortunate in this was the fourth time I’ve seen Bob perform and have some amazing memories of his earlier concerts, but for anyone seeing Bob live for the first time it must have been a confusing and disappointing experience. In summary an expensive way to experience the fall of a legend.

probably the only rock star on the planet who can play none of his hits but have the crowd in the palm of his hand... if you expect to hear all his hits.. you wont but you'll get classic dylan guaranteed
