Billy Idol, former lead singer of UK punk band Generation X became a cultural icon in the 1980's, part due to his capability of singing growling punk rock and gentle ballads and part due to his spiky peroxide hair.
Following the demise of Generation X, Idol met guitarist Steve Stevens and set out to make punk music sexier! They recorded a series of hit singles and stylish music videos, making Idol one of the first stars of MTV.
