Battles are an experimental group consisting of some well known musicians, notably ex Helemet drummer John Stanier, ex Don Caballero guitarist Ian Williams and Tyondai Braxton, son of avant-garde jazz musician Anthony Braxton.
Their music has been described by Mojo magazine as 'future funk' and their live performances are an incredibly structured and technical fusion of electronic sounds, fuzz, static and percussion.
